About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and fluent Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant to join our team in Cardiff. This role involves supporting students in a Welsh-medium environment, helping to create an inclusive and engaging learning experience that promotes both academic growth and language development. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to assist with classroom activities, foster a positive learning environment, and support students in achieving their educational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons in Welsh, supporting students across various subjects in line with the Curriculum for Wales.
Work with individual students or small groups to provide targeted support, enhancing their Welsh language skills and overall comprehension.
Help set up and organize the classroom, maintaining an inclusive and structured environment that encourages language use and learning.
Promote and encourage Welsh language use throughout the school day, supporting students' bilingual development.
Foster a welcoming and positive atmosphere, ensuring that all students feel valued and supported in their learning journey.
About You
The ideal candidate is a fluent Welsh speaker with experience working with children in an educational setting. You should be enthusiastic about supporting students' learning and committed to promoting the Welsh language within the school community.
Requirements
Proficiency in spoken and written Welsh.
Relevant experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, ideally within a Welsh-medium school or setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for supporting student development.
A flexible, positive approach to adapting to classroom needs and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
A commitment to encouraging bilingualism and promoting Welsh language and culture.
