BAM FM are recruiting a Projects Surveyor/Estimator to join our Projects team. You will be reporting to the Head of Projects and will be required to work concurrently on various projects, including travel across the UK. Working 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday. This is a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract.
Your mission
1. Prepare tender and contract documents.
2. Undertake estimating and tendering role and cost analysis for various projects.
3. Assist in establishing client's requirements and undertake feasibility studies.
4. Perform risk, value management, and cost control.
5. Advise on a procurement strategy.
6. Identify, analyse, and develop responses to commercial risks.
7. Prepare and analyse costings for tenders.
8. Allocate work to subcontractors.
9. Provide advice on contractual claims.
10. Analyse outcomes and write detailed financial reports.
11. Value completed work and arrange payments.
12. Administer Contract Notices in conjunction with PM.
13. Maintain and control changes/variations as per contract and BAM procedures.
14. Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use.
15. Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.
16. Value recovery and cost control.
17. Cost Value Reconciliation.
18. Production of Final Accounts.
Who are we looking for?
1. Qualified at degree level or equivalent professional level.
2. Demonstrable and proven track record working for a contractor in the construction or FM projects industry.
3. Experience in working within a team.
4. Willing to travel, including projects across a national remit.
5. Ability to work on various projects concurrently.
6. Self-Motivated.
7. A positive, proactive individual that works collaboratively with colleagues and the client team.
8. An expert negotiator with a keen eye for detail.
9. Excellent communication skills including client liaison.
10. Good experience of construction forms of contract.
11. Confident and experienced in the use of Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word.
12. Experience of working with external contractors, design teams, and consultants.
13. In-depth experience of: Preparing Valuations, variations, and final accounts, Managing Sub-contract accounts & procurement, Estimating, Pricing tender documents including quality and associated submissions for tender opportunities.
Desirable
Ability to combine project, business, and relationship management skills to facilitate stakeholder groups.
