Reporting to the Reservations Manager, you will be responsible for the accurate, courteous, and efficient execution of hotel guests booking, providing the highest level of personal service. You will process all payments according to the established hotel requirements, and keep the department regularly updated with specific guest needs or enquiries. The Reservations Agent will be required to maintain control of the hotels room inventory, acting as a ‘gate-keeper’ on a day-to-day basis, including high demand periods and sell-out days. The ideal candidate will be required to demonstrate commitment to a task, complete comprehension of guest needs and ability to promote positive relations with all guests. He/she will need to think clearly and quickly, as well as make conscientious decisions. Impeccable attention to detail is imperative, and the ability to prioritise, organise and follow up is also of upmost importance. Essential Functions • Efficiently & accurately, quoting and inputting of guest data and rooming lists for Group Reservations • Responding to email enquiries • Answering telephone enquiries in a polite and courteous manner. • Assisting Reservations Team with individual FIT Reservations & enquiries • Drive hotel revenue through upselling • Updating Events Orders with all relevant information for Groups Competencies • Use of Microsoft Outlook • Strong communication – written & verbal • Pro-Active and Reliable • Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team. • Good Level of English is essential • Ability to work to deadlines • Excellent Telephone manner Preferred Education and Experience • Minimum of 1 Year Front Office Experience using Opera PMS OR 6 Months as Reservations Agent using Opera PMS. • Use of Opera PMS is essential
