What you will do in your working day
· Engage in teamwork between colleagues across all HSS locations, to ensure delivery of an effective workshop performance.
· Have a solid commitment to want to lean, ongoing training is a must to improve your overall knowledge of machines and listening to your mentor to service and repair machines in-line with manufacturer specification.
· Learn how to complete routine service and maintenance of all hire equipment and products under the guidance of the workshop mentor.
· Liaise with the mentor when spare parts are required for machines to ensure cost effective repairs are completed.
· Effectively use the on-site Kanbans to keep machines in available for hire state • Liaise with workshop mentor to advise on equipment recommendations regarding write off, damage, dirty and lost accessories, and recharge to customers where applicable.
· Advise workshop mentor of any machine defects that maybe covered under warranty.
· Ensure service records are maintained onto Spanner via worksheets to keep the history and associated costs accurate.
· Adhere to company guidelines on Health & Safety at Work, raise safety observations, near-misses and be serious about safety by leading from the front.
· Control all waste in an environmentally friendly way in-line with HSS policy.
· Ensure you and the team work closely to deliver a productive workshop in line with company targets.
· Represent the company and values of the business and portray a professional image to all customers, potential customers and other people you meet in the course of your work.
Carry out other tasks and duties as required, including assisting in other departments when necessary.
The training you will be getting
• Reaseheath Training will be the apprenticeship provider for this Level 3 apprenticeship.
• The employer will give guidance and support throughout
• Off-the-job training must make up at least 20% of the apprentice’s contracted hours, over the total duration of the apprentice’s planned training period
• This Standard apprenticeship may include Functional Skills in maths, English & ICT
