The post holder will be a member of the NHSBSA Digital, Data and Technology directorate and will contribute to the production of our Official and National statistics publications and associated materials, including policies and standards within the organisation.

Main duties of the job
Undertake the production of Official and National Statistics, on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis.
Clean, process, analyse, and visualise large data sets, conducting advanced analysis and interpretation of the data, identifying key trends and patterns.
Communicate analysis effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of reproducible analytical pipelines to support the production of our publications in collaboration, and with support from, colleagues using version control software.
Contribute to statistical policies and standards, championing these in your work and throughout the organisation, making sure our outputs meet the highest standards of the UK Statistics Authority Code of Practice for Statistics.
Handle queries and correspondence relating to our statistical publications from the public, media, and internal and external colleagues.
Maintain an awareness of emerging trends and best practice from the wider statistical community. Take responsibility for your own professional development, identifying areas for improvement and participate in training provided to develop further.
Participate in organisation wide and external working groups.
Share knowledge with colleagues and create and explain working procedures to others.
Plan and organise your own workload and manage activities or projects that may have conflicting deadlines.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
In this role, you are accountable for:
Being a part of a statistical publication production team, undertaking producing Official and National Statistics, on a monthly,
quarterly or annual basis.
Handling large datasets with an understanding of how to clean, process, analyse and visualise data. Conduct advanced analysis
and interpretation of data, identifying trends and patterns within information and is able to present this to both internal and external
customers in a visual and informative manner with clear explanations.
Contributing to the development and maintenance of robust end to end production processes, applying reproducible analytical
pipeline principles to our publications in collaboration with, and with support from, colleagues using version control software.
Contributing to statistical policies and standards and championing these in their work and throughout the organisation, ensuring
their outputs meet the highest standards in line with the UK Statistics Authority Code of Practice for Statistics.
Handling queries and correspondence relating to our statistical publications from the public, media, and internal and external
colleagues.
Creating and maintaining supporting documentation for statistical publications including technical documentation where
appropriate.
Maintaining an awareness of emerging trends and best practice from across the wider statistical community.
Working collaboratively with internal and external partners to understand data requirements.
Communicates data and analyses effectively at all levels to both technical and non-technical audiences verbally and in writing,
using a range of dissemination methods.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
23. A first or second-class honours degree in a numerate discipline containing at least 25% taught statistical content (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Sciences, Business Studies, Psychology, Geography or similar)
