As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work collaboratively with teachers to create a positive learning environment and provide assistance to students with special educational needs.
Responsibilities:
1. Educate and Support: Assist in educating students by providing one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions.
2. Special Education Assistance: Support students with special education needs by implementing individualized education plans.
3. Mentoring: Serve as a mentor to students, offering guidance and support in their academic endeavors.
4. Communication: Effectively communicate with teachers, parents, and other staff members to ensure student progress is monitored and supported.
5. Working with Children: Engage with children of various age groups, fostering a safe and inclusive learning atmosphere.
6. Collaboration: Work closely with teachers to develop lesson plans, activities, and assessments that cater to diverse learning styles.
7. Assist with Classroom Management: Help maintain classroom order and discipline while promoting a positive learning environment.
Skills:
1. Experience working with children or individuals with special educational needs.
2. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with teachers, parents, and students.
3. Strong interpersonal skills to engage with students in a supportive manner.
4. Patience and empathy when working with students who require additional assistance.
5. Knowledge of tutoring techniques and special education practices.
