Reporting to the Assistant Director of Human Resources as a HR Business Partner to one of the Council’s Directorates, you will be supporting senior leaders as they deliver on the Council’s progressive Workforce Strategy. You will be reviewing the Council’s people plans, contributing to their development and making sure that the HR Team offer the right level of support, challenge and guidance to deliver organisational success.
We are looking for a strategic thinker and technically strong HR Business Partner with a good understanding of working with Trade Unions. We need an experienced, measured and positive individual who can work confidently to challenge and coach leaders.
We welcome applications from candidates from all sectors; although experience working in a variety of public and private sector organisations would be advantageous. What is important is that candidates have a sound employee relations background, experience of working within a complex environment and have operated as a 'true' HR business partner.

Until 31st March 2026 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a monthly deduction from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded three additional days leave (pro rata for part-time).
