Teaching Assistant, Challenging Behaviour Specialism

Are you an engaging and proactive Teaching Assistant with an ability to engage otherwise difficult to reach children?
Do you have experience working with challenging behaviour and a good understanding of positive behaviour management and de-escalation?
I am currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a forward-thinking and recently developed school in Torquay built to cater for children from ages 11-16 years old with behavioural difficulties resulting in exclusion from mainstream education.
The school is well-staffed and welcoming, with a dedicated team of expert practitioners who work together as a team for the social and emotional development of the students in their care.
Initially, the position is offered on a short-term basis, with a possibility of extending to a permanent placement for the right candidate from September 2022 to start the new academic year.
Applicants should have all the following to be considered:
1. 6 months experience in a Special Educational Needs Setting, preferably behavioural
2. Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or similar
3. A hard-working and dynamic attitude to supporting in education
4. A resilient character with high levels of compassion and empathy
5. An engaging personality and a can-do attitude
