This is a full time, permanent post for 37 hours per week. The post will play an essential role in achieving good outcomes for Pembrokeshire's looked after and accommodated children through providing a high standard quality assurance and statutory reviewing service. As IRO you will have responsibility for delivering the statutory reviewing function for young people looked after by the Local Authority, ensuring plans for all children are appropriate, timely and high quality with the voice of the child at the centre. As Child Protection Chair, you will be responsible for chairing multi agency child protection conferences, ensuring children living in high risk situations are protected and their needs are met. In Pembrokeshire, we pride ourselves on the quality of our prevention services which have supported many children to remain within their own families. The success of this has meant that our overall looked after population and child protection register is below the national average, ensuring manageable caseloads. We offer a flexible service to families via a hybrid model using a mix of face to face and Microsoft Teams for meetings. You must possess a relevant qualification in social work and be a registered social worker.
