Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for purchasing of all components and consumables.
2. Ensuring all components are purchased competitively, on time and that goods are received within expected lead times.
3. Monitoring top components and ensuring items that are running low are ordered and received on time to prevent run out, considering supplier lead times.
4. Continually monitoring stock of all items, ensuring all are within acceptable limits, set out within the system.
5. Sourcing components from various manufacturers as and when required, including new or changing components.
6. Ensuring items are purchased in line with supplier price list, that discount levels are correct, and quantity breaks are correct.
7. Forecasting of all critical items, reviewing usages monthly and updating forecasts as necessary.
8. Negotiating better prices/service across all suppliers, particularly those with high usage.
9. Organising collection with couriers/shippers of all items where required and monitoring delivery of same.
10. Matching POD's to invoices and placing on the system, ensuring all prices agree to purchase order price and quantities received, any discrepancies being raised immediately.
11. Filing supplementary declarations with TSS.
12. Assisting with shop counter in relation to small sales and repairs if and when required.
The Ideal Person:
1. Previous experience working in a purchasing department.
2. Computer literacy skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are essential.
3. Excellent verbal, written, telephone and email communication skills.
