Job Overview The Capital Project Team has an exciting opportunity for a enthusiastic, self-motivated and experienced Project Manager. The successful post holder will deliver various projects ranging in value from £50K to several million pounds, on the Trust capital plan. Working closely with colleagues and external advisors, projects will be delivered from inception through to handover and occupation. Main duties of the job The post holder will have delegated responsibility for budgetary management and delivery, from inception through to completion, of construction works for all individual capital schemes. The post holder will also be required to project manage the feasibility, design and construction of major capital schemes across the trust estate and at health facilities across the ICS. Frimley Health Trust benefits on Vimeo Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities To lead and carry out feasibility design studies for major/minor capital project schemes and to prepare whole-scheme budget costs. To manage the development of the project brief with the end users and to ensure sign-off. To develop detail design drawings with other members of the design team. To determine and recommend suitable procurement routes in accordance with Trust Standing Orders and SFIs. Where appropriate, operate the scheme contract using the ProCure22 contract template and proformas. To instruct and manage external consultants and contractors and to ensure that formal, documented briefings have taken place. For smaller schemes, to produce specifications and tender documentation and to manage the tender process. To project manage, on and off site, the construction of capital developments. To manage and control the quality of workmanship of contractors on site. To monitor and manage allocated budgets for individual capital schemes. To maintain adequate communications with all internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifetime. To liaise closely with colleagues within the Estates & Facilities Department on capital schemes as required. To maintain electronic project files for all relevant schemes. To provide formal updates of the progress of all capital schemes fortnightly or as required by the Senior PM and Associate Director of Capital. To ensure that all Trust’s CAD drawings are available and up to date and that as -built and as-installed drawings are obtained for all new buildings. To provide professional and technical advice to the hospital as and when required. To provide support to the Associate Director of Capital in the delivery of the capital programme and Director of Estates and Facilities in the strategic planning of the hospital estate.
