This fixed-term role is available as a secondment to internal applicants in line with our secondment policy.
About the Role
This role is critical in recovering outstanding debts on former rent accounts, including Former Tenant Arrears and Housing Benefit Overpayments. The successful candidate will work in a busy customer-facing team recovering rent debts and other associated housing debts.
You will have a thorough knowledge of benefits and housing legislation, as well as the recovery processes to enable us to recover all outstanding housing-related debts. With the current cost of living pressures, you will provide bespoke support to help sustain current tenancies, focusing on ensuring all former debts are addressed.
This varied role will involve building relationships with tenants/former tenants and various agencies, promoting a payment culture and money advice services. You will also be responsible for enforcement and have the opportunity to represent the Council in Court.

Additional Information
Your starting salary will be pro-rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
