Cygnet Healthcare is looking for Learning Disabilities Support Worker (Nights) to join our team working at Marion House. You’ll be working 42 hours a week (Nights from 07:45 pm till 08:00 am, including alternative weekends ), making a positive difference to the lives of the people in our care at Cygnet Marion House. Marion House is a specialist 5-bed residential service for adults with autism and moderate to severe learning disabilities, who may have behaviours that challenge. We aim to provide a safe, comfortable and effective environment, promoting independence and community integration. Person-centred planning is at the heart of everything we do, based on each person’s specific needs Marion house is based in Borrowash which is around a 10-15 minute drive from Derby City Centre with good links via local bus services. Supporting with all aspects of personal care in a dignified manner Being able to remain calm in challenging situations The ability to make a difference to the lives of the individuals we support The ability to support residents on trips and activities out in the community What you will need: Previous experience working with adults with Autism and Challenging Behaviour. A can do attitude and the ability to work well within a friendly staff team. Knowledge and previous experience of using non-verbal communication techniques such as Makaton would be advantageous, however training on this will be provided.
