Role Summary
Overall Purpose of the Role
To ensure that the Depots/Region achieve profits targets by:
1. Building close and effective working relationships with a network of contacts within the customer base.
2. Ensuring revenue and profit opportunities are maximised.
3. Selling in rate increases as and when necessary.
4. Positively influencing perception via structured and planned calls.
5. Developing a strong working relationship with depot based DX teams.
Main Responsibilities
1. Creating and sharing a sustainable network of contacts and key individuals within the existing customer base.
2. Achieving and exceeding productivity targets in line with DX policy.
3. Working with their Line Manager to develop action plans in line with strategic objectives for existing customers.
4. Managing customer trade against profile.
5. Demonstrating strong knowledge of the Parcels Industry and all DX products.
6. Taking ownership of any rate increases set by Commercial.
7. Submitting accurate and timely activity reports.
8. Attending weekly depot management meetings.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
1. Experience within the industry and of dealing with Commercial Entities.
2. Ability to converse at all levels.
3. Detailed understanding of how to create value within relationships.
4. An understanding of the sales process.
5. Problem solving abilities; able to facilitate discussions.
6. Able to work with the minimum of supervision.
7. Microsoft skills i.e. Excel, Word, Email, Access & PowerPoint.
Measures
1. Achievement of profit budgets within their depots/region.
2. Profit growth within their customer base.
3. Retention and growth of all customers within their customer base.
4. Achievement of Rate Increase Targets.
5. Support Credit Control when required to minimise Debtor Days.
6. Minimum of 25 customer calls per day (outbound).
