Water Treatment Consultant
£60,000 - £65,000 + generous benefits package on top of salary
A large FM Organisation are currently recruiting for a Water Treatment Consultant for one of their Flagship sites in the Kings Cross area. Based on a leading technology companies HQ, you'll be the dedicated in house Water Treatment Specialist tasked with mobilising and smooth running of the whole site. Responsibilities and Duties
Water Quality Assurance:
Regularly collect and analyze water samples to assess various parameters like pH, turbidity, chlorine levels, and the presence of contaminants.
Compare test results against established regulatory standards and internal quality benchmarks.
Implement corrective actions, such as adjusting chemical treatments or filtration processes, to maintain optimal water quality.

Equipment Maintenance and Inspection:
Conduct routine inspections of all water treatment equipment, including pumps, filters, valves, and chemical feed systems.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, cleaning, and calibration, to ensure optimal equipment performance.
Identify and diagnose equipment malfunctions or breakdowns.
Repair or replace faulty components as needed, following manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and equipment service records.
Specialized Treatment Processes:
Operate and maintain specialized water treatment systems, such as reverse osmosis, UV disinfection, or ion exchange units.
Monitor and adjust treatment parameters to achieve desired water quality outcomes.
Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues with treatment processes.
Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
Stay informed about current water safety regulations and health standards.
Ensure facility operations adhere to all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Implement and maintain a comprehensive safety program, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and employee training.
Develop and enforce safe work procedures for handling chemicals and accessing water systems.
Provide guidance and training to staff on water safety practices and emergency response protocols.
Additional Responsibilities:
Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering or maintenance, to address water-related issues.
Participate in the development and implementation of water conservation initiatives.
Stay updated on advancements in water treatment technologies and best practices.
May be required to respond to after-hours emergencies or system failures.
Ensuring Water Quality and Safety: Rigorously monitoring and analyzing water quality parameters to guarantee compliance with regulatory standards and the delivery of safe, potable water to consumers. This involves conducting regular tests, interpreting results, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Operational Management: Overseeing the daily operations of the water treatment facility, including the supervision of staff, maintenance of equipment, and management of chemical inventories. This also entails coordinating with other departments and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
Process Optimization: Continuously evaluating and improving treatment processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact. This may involve implementing new technologies, optimizing chemical dosages, and streamlining operational procedures.
Emergency Response: Developing and implementing emergency response plans to address unforeseen events such as equipment failures, chemical spills, or natural disasters. This includes coordinating with emergency services and providing timely communication to the public.
Regulatory Compliance: Staying abreast of evolving regulations and industry standards, ensuring that the facility operates in full compliance. This involves maintaining accurate records, submitting required reports, and participating in inspections and audits.
Safety and Risk Management: Implementing comprehensive safety protocols to protect workers, the public, and the environment. This includes conducting risk assessments, providing safety training, and enforcing the use of personal protective equipment.
