The aim of the Internal Audit is to provide independent effective assurance that Anglian Water Group’s risk management, governance and internal control processes are operating effectively. You will be part of the team carrying out internal audits to assess and enhance controls over Primary Risk Areas and key risks across the business. What you’ll be doing: As a Group Internal Auditor, you will play a crucial role in executing the Internal Audit plan, working closely with the Head of Internal Audit and the Group Internal Audit Manager. Your responsibilities will involve leading individual audits, from planning and fieldwork to reporting, ensuring they are completed on time and to quality to meet the Institute of Internal Auditors standards. Your work will provide valuable insights to Senior Management and the Audit Committee, helping to enhance business performance through process and control improvements. Key aspects of your role will include developing and implementing testing strategies to assess the effectiveness of key controls, identifying areas for improvement, and communicating findings through clear, concise reports. You'll also support the annual audit planning process and development of the Group Internal Audit methodology and processes to ensure continuous improvement in delivering timely and insightful audit opinions, using your business knowledge and commercial acumen to help assess risks and shape the Group Internal Audit plan. Additionally, you will liaise with various teams to obtain the necessary documentation and evidence for control testing and engage with Senior Management to agree on the audit findings within their areas of responsibility. Effective communication skills are essential in this role, as you will need to convey audit results and recommendations clearly to all relevant stakeholders.
