Job Description:
Are you interested in supporting children with Special Needs? Would you like to build your experience working with Autism and Complex Learning Disabilities?
A specialist school in Chippenham is looking for a Graduate or experienced TA to join their team as an Autism/SEN Teaching Assistant. Your role would involve supporting children aged 4 to 18 with complex autism and other associated needs. The pupils at this school require consistent, ongoing support to ensure they receive the highest quality of care and child-centered support.
The school seeks an Autism/SEN Teaching Assistant who understands the pupils' needs, is open-minded, and ready for a challenge! The children have varying needs, although Autism is the primary focus. As an Autism/SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support the team in managing situations related to behavior/well-being and emotional regulation. You will also work closely with the SENCo and class teachers to ensure each student meets their learning objectives and is supported mentally, emotionally, and academically.
This is a fantastic opportunity for any Graduate to work alongside therapists and psychologists based on-site at the school. You will be mentored and have the opportunity to shadow sessions and learn from them. Plus, you will gain invaluable experience working with Special Needs and Mental Health issues. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring educational or occupational psychologist, therapeutic support worker, or SEN teacher.
