Key Responsibilities:
* Client Enquiries & Consultation: Responding to client inquiries via email and phone, scheduling consultation calls, and offering tailored wedding packages.
* Supplier Coordination: Booking suppliers, managing contracts, and liaising with venues, photographers, florists, musicians, and other key vendors.
* Wedding Planning: Preparing detailed event timelines, overseeing logistics, and ensuring the couple’s vision is brought to life.
* On-the-day Coordination: Occasionally providing on-site coordination during the wedding day to ensure everything runs smoothly (typically 4-10 hours).
* Post-Wedding Tasks: Following up with the couple for feedback, collecting photos/videos, requesting reviews, and submitting weddings to blogs for publication.
* Based in Scotland with fluency in English (additional knowledge of Scottish dialects/languages is a plus).
* Car & Full Driving License: Willing to travel across Scotland for event coordination, often to remote venues.
* Flexible Schedule: Ability to take client calls during evenings and weekends, especially for couples from the USA and Canada.
* Customer-Focused: Strong communication skills and a passion for delivering exceptional service to clients.
* Remote Work Experience: Previous freelance or remote work experience is beneficial for managing your own schedule, tasks, and workload.
* Experience in the wedding, tourism, or hospitality industries.
* Experience in a sales environment (non-retail).
* A genuine interest in weddings and customer service.
* Ability to promote Scotland as a wedding destination, including researching venues and suppliers.
Additional Responsibilities (Optional):
* Venue Research & Visits: Inspect new wedding venues across Scotland.
* Content Creation: Assist in generating ideas or content for our website and marketing efforts.
* Feedback & Process Improvement: Provide valuable feedback on your experience to help improve our services and systems.
* Commission-Based Pay: You will earn a percentage of the overall profit from each wedding.
* Fixed Fee for On-the-Day Coordination: For wedding day coordination services (additional pay for this role).
* Bonuses: Cash bonuses for positive client reviews, blog features, and promoting our services.
* Flexibility: No fixed working hours – you manage your own schedule as long as client needs are met.
Earnings Potential:
Depending on your dedication, skills, and workload, average annual earnings range from approximately £20K for part-time to over £45K for full-time wedding planners. This is before tax and excluding travel expenses for event coordination. You will be engaged as an independent contractor (self-employed) and will be responsible for invoicing your earnings on a monthly basis. As such, you will be responsible for managing your own tax obligations.
