Job Summary
Applications are invited to the post of Cardiology Fellow (ST4+), to commence April 2025. Short term contract for 6 months.
The Sussex Cardiac Centre in Brighton is a dynamic unit with an emphasis on training. The unit offers experience in all aspects of adult cardiology. We are looking for a Fellow in Cardiology, to join the team of 9 Specialist Registrars and 2 fellows who are supported by 15 Consultant Cardiologists.
This post offers the opportunity for a trainee to gain further experience in all areas of Cardiology, in a busy tertiary Cardiac unit. The post holder will also be exposed to all aspects of adult cardiology, forming part of the clinical team for inpatients and outpatients.
This post is open primarily to applicants who do not require a certificate of sponsorship to take up employment in the UK. Main Duties of the Job
This is a full time post, with provision of on call commitment as per rota. There will be attachment to 1 of the 4 Cardiology ward teams, with associated ward rounds. There will be on average, 2 clinics per week. The post will predominantly involve early career cardiology training opportunities such as angiography and echocardiography. Access to more advance cath lab based techniques such as TAVI or exposure to advanced imaging or EP may be possible depending on prior experience.
The successful candidate will be an integral member of the cardiology team and will expected to attend the join cardiology and cardiothoracic MDT once weekly.
The post holder accepts that he / she will also perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate consultant, in consultation, where practicable, with his / her colleagues, both senior and junior.
