Main duties of the job The following are the core responsibilities of the clinical coder. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels: a. Accurately read-coding data on EMIS Web into the patient record b. Identifying relevant clinical information documented in patient correspondence, coding appropriately and completing any detailed actions c. Input and extract data as required to support practice reports d. File and store records as required e. Photocopy documentation as required f. Action all emails, reports and mail in a timely manner g. Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records h. Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary i. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately j. Covering Reception calls during coffee breaks k. Carry out system searches as requested l. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times m. Summarising and tagging new patients notes n. Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested About us Kingswood Surgery is located near the centre of Tunbridge Wells, on the Kent/East Sussex border, and is within easy access of the A21. It is a long established and friendly practice and has been established in partner-owned premises at its present location since the early 1960s. Kingswood surgery is a training practice with 3 partners and 6 salaried GPs. All supported by a Paramedic Practitioner, a strong nursing team together with exceptional reception and administrative support teams. A forward thinking practice serving approximately 11,000 patients with an overall CQC rating of GOOD. We utilise EMIS Web and Anima, providing a wide range of enhanced services.
