Foundation Year Tutor (Faculty of Science and Engineering and Faculty of Health Sciences) An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fixed-term Foundation Year tutor (Faculty of Science and Engineering and Faculty of Health Sciences) in the Centre for Foundation Year Studies. The role of the Foundation Year Tutor is to support the transition, progression and retention of students accessing degree programmes via the Foundation Year in the Faculty of Science and Engineering and Faculty of Health Sciences. The Foundation Year Tutor will be the first point of contact, offering academic and pastoral support to a diverse range of students and will liaise with Professional Support Services. The postholder will contribute to the teaching and assessment of Level 3 modules across the Foundation Year and will provide skills development activities to support student transition to university. They will be self-motivated, capable of working autonomously and committed to working collaboratively with a broad range of colleagues in a supportive, engaging work environment that is focused on ensuring Foundation Year students are supported in their future endeavours in their chosen career. The fixed-term contract is to provide back-fill during a period of maternity cover and is required until approximately mid-April 2025. The post is Band 7, 0.8 FTE and will report to the Interim Director of Foundation Year Studies who in turn reports to the PVC (Education). Just to make you aware, the University of Hull will be closing down on Friday 20th December 2024 and will not be re-opening until Thursday 2nd January 2025.
