Depot Electrician / Maintenance Engineer\n\nLocation: St Albans\n Job Type: Full-time\n\nOverview\n\nWe're seeking a proactive Depot Electrician / Maintenance Engineer to handle electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations across depot facilities. The role supports smooth operations through both planned and reactive maintenance, while also contributing to general building upkeep.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nConduct routine checks, fault-finding, and repairs on electrical systems and machinery.\n\nInstall, inspect, and test equipment in line with safety and regulatory standards (e.g., BS 7671).\n\nPerform general maintenance on mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and infrastructure.\n\nEnsure compliance with Health & Safety procedures, including testing and certification.\n\nKeep accurate maintenance logs and provide recommendations for improvements.\n\nCollaborate with depot staff and contractors; support junior team members as needed.\n\nRequirements\n\nQualifications:\n\nElectrical Installation (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)\n\n17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations\n\nPAT Testing certification (preferred)\n\nExperience & Skills:\n\nElectrical maintenance in depot/industrial settings\n\nStrong diagnostic and problem-solving skills\n\nFamiliarity with mechanical/general building systems\n\nAble to read schematics and work independently or in a team\n\nPersonal Attributes:\n\nSafety-conscious, organised, and detail-focused\n\nGood communicator with a hands-on approach\n\nBenefits\n\nCompany pension\n\nCycle to work scheme\n\nGym membership\n\nHealth & wellbeing program\n\nPrivate medical insurance\n\nOn-site parking\n\nSchedule: Monday to Friday | Overtime available | Holiday entitlement included
