The Role
An exciting dual role within the Lakeland IT Team has arisen, offering the opportunity to combine both business analysis and integration testing skills. You will divide your time equally between the two disciplines in supporting Lakelands delivering of significant system and process improvement initiatives.

Undertaking the role of Business Analyst (BA) and reporting into the IT Dev Project Manager, you will need to demonstrate a deep understanding of business structures and processes to bear on IT. You will map and document business processes, acquire and document functional and non-functional requirements for software changes, and act as the liaison between Lakelands business and solution development teams.
Performing the role of Integration tester and again reporting into the IT Dev Project Manager, you will be involved in ensuring software quality across a range of internal and external IT applications and websites. Responsible for functional & integration testing activities, ensuring applications work as expected and issues are clearly reported through appropriate channels. You will work closely with project stakeholders, development and business/UAT teams to ensure test scope meets requirements resulting in quality software.
It’s an exciting and varied job and a genuine opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of technical change within Lakeland. You’ll work with colleagues across the Lakeland business and play your part in delivering a successful programme of continuous system and process improvement.
About you
Ideally be educated to graduate or equivalent level and been part of at least two full software project delivery lifecycles.
If you have three years or more solid experience in either of the two disciplines and have an exposure to and a desire to expand your knowledge and experience in the other discipline, Lakeland is interested in speaking to you.
As a Business Analyst, we are looking for an individual who can capture requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process modelling and data analysis. The successful candidate must be able to evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal 3rd parties to analyse information needs and functional requirements and interface designs.
Experience of mapping and documenting business processes using standard tools and to agreed standards is essential and an important part of the role is working with business teams to plan the acceptance of new technology and processes into production use.
As an Integration Tester, we are looking for an individual with formal testing experience in a structured working environment. You will have experience in understanding requirements and creating key test deliverables such as test strategies, plans, scripts, scenarios, and test data.
You will demonstrate a solid understanding of test estimation, scheduling, requirements traceability, execution and reporting results to various audiences. You must be well versed in defect identification, reporting and ownership through to resolution, establishing close working relationships with developers and business users alike.
Desirable but not essential to Lakeland would be exposure to test automation tools/principles, experience of testing within an Agile framework, SQL Experience and having worked for a multi-channel organisation.
In supporting both disciplines you must be able to think on your feet and manage your own workload and meet deadlines, you’ll enjoy working in a fact paced environment where there is always lots going on. You’ll be happy working independently whilst also enjoying being part of a team, sharing information, knowledge & experience freely and building and maintaining positive relationships.
