We currently have a great opportunity for a Cook to join our Care Plus team at The Sandford Nursing Home, Church Stretton, Shropshire on a bank contract (to work as and when required).

The Role
As a Cook you manage kitchen supply orders, purchasing, and invoicing within budget limits, ensuring all staff follow Health and Safety standards. You will properly store, prepare, and cook food according to hygiene practices and usage dates, collaborate with the Manager to plan a four-week rolling menu considering clients' dietary needs, and address individual dietary requests and feedback on food and menus. Additionally, you will create and enforce a kitchen cleaning schedule, maintain kitchen and equipment in good working order, ensuring staff adhere to cleaning schedules, and actively participate in food preparation and kitchen cleaning tasks.
Skills and experience required:
To hold current and suitable food hygiene certificate (essential)
Significant kitchen management experience
Recent significant experience of working within a kitchen
Food preparation skills
A commitment to the understanding of good customer service
Organisation and planning skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
To build relationships of trust and respect with residents and staff
Due to the nature of this post, the role is subject to an Enhanced and Adult Barred DBS disclosure.
