Opportunity
We need an engineer who is a pragmatic and self-starting to join the Production Support Team to work on one of our radar product lines. As a Support Team Engineer your role will be broad, dynamic and challenging, every day will be different, where challenges can appear at short notice in any stage of the manufacturing process. You will work alongside Operations (manufacturing) personnel where you will be on hand to provide your engineering judgement and guidance to help solve a broad range of design, test and manufacturability issues.
As a team you will ensure the smooth progress of the highly complex processors and receivers through the manufacturing process in a timely manner. This is an exciting role where you will learn a great deal about Radar systems and complex product manufacturing. These are Edinburgh based roles and will require a significant amount of on-site working.
What you'll do as a Production Support Team Engineer:
* Be a primary engineering point of contact for operations, a key individual in the delivery of Typhoon radar production.
* Provide engineering judgement and guidance to ensure production output targets are achieved.
* Plan and execute effective root cause / corrective action plans.
* Work hand in hand with the product development teams to ensure lessons learned and Design For Excellence best practices are deployed at early lifecycle stages for future products.
What we need from you:
* A degree or higher qualification in Electronics/ or a related engineering discipline.
* A positive self-starting personality with an ability to think on your feet and make decisions in a timely manner.
* Exceptional problem-solving skills and a demonstrable tenacity for understanding and implementing robust Root Cause and Corrective Action plans.
* Good understanding and experience of the design of high-performance products for series production.
It would be great if you have:
* Experience in a similar role, supporting production of complex electro mechanical systems.
* A background with experience working with RF or high speed digital technologies.
* RF experience but these roles primarily require engineers who are pragmatic self-starters who have a tenacity to solve problems and are able to think on their feet, making sensible, timely decisions
