Carrying out General Inspection and Principal inspection of Highway Structures in accordance with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges.
# Recording and reporting on all inspections including the use of Structures Management System in accordance with the CSS Bridge Condition Index system.
# Interpretation of bridge structure defects in construction materials such as steel and concrete.
# Understanding the importance of efficient reporting of urgent and severe defects that have the potential to reduce capacity and performance.
# Recording defects on site and reporting via online structural management systems.
# Experience in Civil Engineering with particular relevance to inspection and maintenance of highway structures assets.
# Sound technical understanding of construction materials and forms.
# Experienced in the management and maintenance of trunk or local road network.
# Demonstrable experience in a relevant discipline preferably involving work of a structural or building nature is desirable.
# Full valid UK driving licence.
