We are looking for live in carers to support our female service user of 50 years old with Multiple Sclerosis. She requires a live in carer to support her needs; assistance with all daily living tasks but likes to remain as independent as possible. Our Service User lives in Sandy, a small town in the heart of Bedfordshire. She lives alone, so companionship within this package is key. She enjoys shopping and visiting the local supermarkets where she enjoys to do her food shopping, she has a passion for food as used to be a Chef. She requires regular catheter care, assistance with personal care and is dependant on help mobilising around the house when not using her wheelchair using equipment such as a hoist. The ideal candidate will have understanding of the needs she may require and be willing to learn and adapt to best suit her needs. You will need to provide a minimum of 2 week on and 1 week off availability as you will be in rotation with another live in carer. You will also receive an undisturbed break of 2 hours per day. The salary starts at £900 per week plus £50 per week food allowance The support includes: Day to day living tasks Accompanying her on outings such as weekly food shop Meeting up with friends and family Being a companion and supporting with hobbies and interests such as cooking. Experience of working within the care sector is essential with a real passion in supporting people with disabilities to live fulfilled lives. We provide an extensive training programme including the Care Certificate as well as complex care training tailored to your role. The ideal candidate must have a manual driving license The ideal candidate will need: 6 months of UK experience in live in care or complex needs.
