Clinical Nurse Specialist – Heart Failure Service
The Heart Centre at the University Hospital of North Midlands is a tertiary Centre delivering high quality Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery and an inpatient/outpatient Heart failure service to the population of Staffordshire, Shropshire, East Cheshire and North Wales.
We are looking for a dynamic nurse who is passionate about providing holistic care and support to patients with both a new and existing diagnosis of Heart failure.
Main duties of the job
The role will involve working across acute in-patient and out-patient settings at both Royal Stoke and County Hospitals undertaking patient assessment and implementing management plans. In addition, the post holder is expected to participate in the development of education, training, and clinical supervision of other staff and students. If you have an interest in the specialist area of heart failure and can demonstrate sound clinical leadership, we would welcome your application. Candidates should have high clinical standards and be committed to quality patient care with previous Heart Failure Service experience. Excellent communication skills are essential for this applicant as they will be a senior member of the heart failure multi-disciplinary team. The applicant will have evidence of teaching patients and staff and personal development which will be evident with the application.
Essential criteria for application
* Level 1 Registered Nurse on NMC Register
* Evidence of degree level study in health/nursing related studies
* ENB 998 or evidence of teaching in clinical areas and to patients.
* Health Assessment Qualification
* Evidence of Masters level study in Heart Failure
* Minimum of 3 years post registration experience to include 1 year of management/leadership experience
* The successful candidate will be supported and guided through a competency package and will be allocated a preceptor.
