As the Project Manager (PM), you will provide leadership for the effective delivery of your assigned work package(s) within the Turbine Programme of HPC, while recognising and managing the programme’s impacts on the wider Project. You will report to the Senior Project Manager for Installation & Commissioning (Turbine Programme) and is responsible for the direction and leadership of activities associated with the Prefabrication, transport & storage, installation, and commissioning of the Turbine Hall Piping. Your responsibilities will be to ensure delivery of all (or part of) the engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities for the life cycle of the contract or work package in accordance with the overall Project schedule. What you’ll be doing… • Define the scope of work for the contract or package and manage interfaces with other program elements. • Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders involved in the contract or package. • Drive the safe, timely, and budget-compliant delivery of contract activities, monitoring progress against milestones, deadlines, and budget, and providing comprehensive reports to key stakeholders. • Anticipate, manage, and resolve issues within the contract or package; identify risks, update the program budget, and escalate issues to the Senior Project Manager as necessary. • Handle all contract administration tasks, including variations, claims, technical queries, and instructions, with support from a Commercial Manager. • Provide oversight of the Tier 1 supply chain to ensure adherence to Nuclear Safety standards. • Resolve issues, non-conformances, and other challenges during fabrication and installation to maintain quality and schedule. • Manage all changes to the contract, including scope definition, business justification, and implementation in alignment with governance. • Develop and maintain detailed level 3 schedules for the contract or package, ensuring alignment with overall project schedules (levels 1 and 2). Who you are… • Demonstrated experience of delivering projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment. • Degree in engineering or a related field, with a preference for piping engineering. • Demonstrate strong skills and experience in project management, financial management, change management and facilitation. Strong numerical and analytical skills. • Management of commercial claims and associated negotiation experience. • Good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills. Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks. • Experience of piping systems installation is highly desirable.
