Renfrewshire Council are looking to recruit a team of motivated, enthusiastic and experienced individuals to be responsible for the 24-hour, 365 day a year operation of the Clyde Waterfront and Renfrew Riverside (CWRR) Clyde Crossing bridge.
The primary role of the team members will be the operation of this new £100million Council asset, which will be the first of its kind on the Clyde. The opening and closing of the bridge is controlled remotely from the Control Room building, situated next to the structure (on the southern side in Renfrew) and is required to open on demand to allow the passage of River Vessels.
Team members will be based in the control room building at the bridge and will be an important part of the Climate, Public Protections & Roads service in Environment, Housing and Infrastructure.
The team will be led by a Bridges and Structures Manager with each shift having 2 team members working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern with 1 Roads and Infrastructure Officer and 1 Roads and Infrastructure Coordinator on each shift. The role will involve both dayshift and nightshift hours with associated enhancements paid for night time working.
Although the role will be on a 37hr per week basis the role will also require 1.5hours of contractual overtime to be paid each week, taking the working week up to 38.5hours.
The Roads and Infrastructure Coordinator will report to the Roads and Infrastructure Officer who in turn will report to the Bridges and Structures Manager.
The operations team are responsible for ensuring that the bridge is open or closed as required, in accordance with specific operational protocols and key bridge performance metrics.
In addition to the bridge operation responsibilities the team members will also be responsible for a number of other office based roads and structures activities for which full training will be provided.

It is essential you have experience in analysing data and reporting results, experience in information management and document control, and an awareness of current health and safety legislation with experience following health and safety policies and procedures.
You must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and be Able to create, utilise and control versions of programme / project documentation.
