Job Description:
The CRISS Service in Leeds and York NHS Partnership Foundation Trust provides 24/7 urgent assessment and intensive home treatment provision to service users in Leeds experiencing a mental health crisis. Currently, the service is undergoing restructure and development in the service delivery model following a recent Core Fidelity assessment. The successful candidate will be involved in the mobilization of this model supporting staff and colleagues through the changes. We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced, and dynamic individual from any professional group with the relevant experience, who can provide clear leadership to the multidisciplinary team of nurses, occupational therapists, and health support workers, and be committed to high-quality service user-focused care.
Main duties of the job:
1. Offer management support and guidance to the staff team and lead on specific developments as identified.
2. This post is one of 6 CTM posts covering the service over 7 days predominantly working a 9am -5pm pattern, which may include some weekend working.
3. Support the Operational Manager to provide the leadership structure for the service overall.
4. Support the other band 7’s in times of absence to ensure the whole service is functioning safely.
5. Lead all aspects of clinical governance and service improvement in an ever-evolving climate.
6. Demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to work in partnership with a number of other internal and external stakeholders.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities:
1. Demonstrate a broad range of administrative, clinical, managerial, and leadership skills for the post in question and evidence to support this.
2. Demonstrate effective working partnerships within a multi-disciplinary team to achieve an integrated, effective, and efficient service.
3. Have evidence of up-to-date training relating to contemporary acute/CRISS practice, local and national issues.
4. Be competent and confident to provide expertise, advice, clinical and managerial leadership, and role modelling to the teams they are working with.
5. Demonstrate a high level of skill and expertise in effective decision-making whilst exposed to distressing and highly emotional situations.
6. Understand local, directorate, and national targets, key performance indicators, and quality standards that are met, monitored, and reported on a regular basis.
7. Ensure that services are reviewed, monitored, and continuously improved within the framework of Clinical Governance.
8. Operate within professional Trust policies and procedures and adhere to discipline-specific clinical/professional codes of conduct.
9. Assist the CRISS Clinical operations manager in ensuring robust financial management procedures are in place for the authorisation of pay and non-pay.
10. Act as the authorised signatory for the team budget.
Person specification:
Qualifications Essential criteria:
1. Have a recognised professional qualification e.g. Nursing / Psychology / Occupational Therapy with 2 years post qualification.
Experience Essential criteria:
1. Have experience as a manager in an acute setting.
2. Previous experience in a leadership role or equivalent experience.
3. Demonstrate previous experience in managing difficult and sensitive incidents in your current or previous roles.
4. Lead on fact-finding investigations, complaints, service reviews, and disciplinary issues relating to all aspects of the team’s role and function.
5. Acute Mental Health Experience.
Skills / Knowledge Essential criteria:
1. Have a clear understanding of and commitment to the role of the CRISS services as defined in the service specification.
2. Knowledge base of Crisis and home treatment services that enable good and quality care.
3. Organise, chair, and facilitate team meetings.
4. Experience of facilitating and chairing meetings at both local and city-wide levels.
