Please note you must hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment Summary The postholder will have specific responsibilities in relation to a workforce area(s), providing core advice, guidance and support to Managers on a range of workforce issues, with a particular focus on attendance management and employee relations matters. Responsibilities Attendance Management To provide comprehensive and consistent advice, support and guidance to Managers and staff in relation to the implementation of the Trust’s Attendance Management Policy and Procedure, Employee Relations To provide comprehensive and consistent advice, support and guidance to Managers and staff in relation to the implementation of the Trust’s Disciplinary, Grievance, Capability and Conflict, Bullying & Harassment Procedures, relevant legislation/statutory codes and evidence based best practice principles. To provide specialist advice, support, and guidance to Managers in the management of complex cases, including potential cases of gross misconduct and consideration of precautionary suspension. General Workforce Directorate To provide core advice, guidance and support to staff and Managers across a range of workforce issues, consistent with nationally agreed terms and conditions, regional and local workforce policy and procedure, relevant legislation, and best practice. Essential Criteria Have a relevant degree or recognised professional qualification plus a minimum of two years’ post graduate middle management experience within a Human Resources (HR) function, providing professional advice and guidance on a range of workforce issues. OR Have a minimum of five years’ experience two of which must be at a middle management level, within a Human Resources (HR) function, providing professional advice and guidance on a range of workforce issues. Knowledge and Skills & Experience Have a working, up-to-date knowledge and understanding of NI equality/employment legislation. Have a knowledge and understanding of employee relations and attendance management processes. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office. Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrate excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work to tight timescales within limited resources. Demonstrate conflict resolution skills. Demonstrate experience of constructive partnership working with trade unions in the resolution of workforce issues.
