We are seeking a driven and creative Merchandising & Shopper Marketing Manager with outstanding organisational abilities to join our team. This role will report into the Marketing Director and is ideal for a professional with existing FMCG industry knowledge, who thrives in cultivating collaborative relationships across all business levels and finds fulfillment in crafting and implementing innovative shopper campaigns. The candidate must demonstrate strong expertise in grocery, discounter, and convenience channels to create purposeful shopper activations and display plans that captivate and delight both our shoppers and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate and enrich the merchandising offerings of SCJ brands (Duck, Mr Muscle, Glade, Raid & Pledge) by managing a suite of displays/POS which meet commercial strategies and sustain harmonization initiatives in Europe.
2. Serve as the internal contact across multiple functions including marketing, sales, finance, demand planning, display/POS suppliers, artwork agencies, media agencies, copackers and SSC.
3. Utilise a process-driven approach to coordinate all POS from sales request to delivery, ensuring 100% accuracy and on-time delivery into stores in line with promotional in store dates.
4. Raise SKUs for all shippers and work collaboratively with finance to run P&Ls to calculate financial impact of display and submit requests to the regional team.
5. Responsible for creating and briefing artworks and assets to internal design agency in line with retailer & brand guidelines that are in line with our ATL and ECOM touchpoints to drive omni-channel approach.
6. Develop and own the annual merchandising field agency visits calendar, planning and briefing jobs, while ensuring integration with overall brand FOCO’s and promotional plans.
7. Possess technical expertise in fixture dimensions and space per retailer to deliver temporary, semi-permanent, and permanent solutions in collaboration with marketing, category, and sales team.
8. Lead retailer discussions to develop and implement impactful activations/secondary space designs that secure incremental store space and listings.
9. Utilise shopper insights and category data to develop and recommend solutions that drive shopper engagement and sales. Stay abreast of trade trends and actively seek external sustainability initiatives and innovations to incorporate into POS executions & shopper activations. Regularly visit stores and analyze shopper insights to inform ongoing learning and development.
10. Influence regional brand toolkits and guidelines to ensure the UK’s needs are represented and aligned with consumer and retailer demands.
11. Own and manage the annual POS budget, tracking spending vs. budget, and proactively share action plans with Marketing stakeholders to address discrepancies.
12. Attend brand day meeting on ad hoc basis.
13. Track cost savings for display materials jointly with the finance team, ensuring accurate financial reporting and cost management. Generating cost savings jointly with the supplier. Jointly track write off costs with finance driving actions to eliminate waste.
14. Evaluate and review display/retail media post launch, review with retail media on points to provide post-launch recommendations.
Experience you’ll bring:
15. Industry Experience: Previous roles in merchandising and shopper marketing within the FMCG sector, with a proven track record of successful campaign implementation.
16. Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, ensuring alignment with commercial strategies and on-time delivery.
17. Budget Management: Experience in managing budgets, raising purchase orders, and achieving significant cost savings through strategic purchasing and process improvements.
18. Collaboration: Strong history of collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners to achieve business objectives.
19. Systems: Knowledge of BOS and SAP is an advantage
