Clearway is the fastest growing provider of vacant property security and environmental services in the UK. Due to our continued growth, we are recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join our team based in Runcorn.
As an Assistant Accountant with Clearway, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient, accurate, and timely accounting of financial transactions within the business. Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Efficient processing of invoices across two departments
* Maintenance of the Sales Ledger, ensuring all transactions are coded and reconciled
* Working closely with the Group to manage intercompany transactions
* Calculating sales and other commissions
* Assisting with the preparation and reconciliation of the monthly balance sheet
* Managing the Fixed Asset schedule, including depreciation
* Overseeing general prepayments and accruals
* Performing monthly transactional analysis
* Posting journals in the finance system
* Supporting the production of monthly KPI reports and management packs
* Completing intercompany reconciliations
* Assisting with the integration of acquisitions into the finance system and reporting
* Resolving queries and issues within the finance system to support the team
* Liaising with central finance functions (Accounts Payable and Credit Control)
* Supporting the Finance Manager with ad-hoc reporting and duties as required
Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications
* Part-qualified or currently studying towards an accountancy qualification (AAT, ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
* Previous experience in a similar Assistant Accountant role within a finance team
* Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create, maintain, and analyse complex spreadsheets
* Reliable, with the ability to effectively manage and prioritise workloads
* Takes a proactive approach to resolving issues and problem-solving
* Flexibility and adaptability to succeed in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment
* A positive, "can-do" attitude, with an enthusiastic and energetic approach to work
* A team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
* Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring accurate checks, controls, and balances
* The ability to produce high-quality work to tight deadlines
* Prior experience in a professional services firm and/or private equity-backed business (desirable)
