Community Care Unit Volunteer Health Care Assistants
Do you have experience of working in a health care environment? Are you looking for something to do with your spare time? If you could help support our Community Care Unit at St Elizabeth Hospice, we would love to hear from you.
Our Community Care Unit is looking for volunteer HCAs to support our Community Care team here at the hospice. We are looking for support on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 to 14:00. Ideally, we are looking for volunteers who can offer a weekly or fortnightly commitment.
The types of tasks that volunteer HCAs are required to do include:
1. Assist in physical care involving all personal care, toileting needs, eating and drinking, mobilisation, and maintaining comfort.
2. Provide assistance to the Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists as planned and as required.
3. Ensure the comfort of patients throughout the day.
All care is carried out under the supervision of a registered nurse or allied Health Professional.
Training will be given to support you in your role.
St Elizabeth Hospice has a volunteer mileage/expenses policy which allows volunteers to claim expenses and mileage incurred whilst carrying out their role for the hospice.
For more information, please see the Role Description below. If you would like to discuss the role further, please ring Kerrian Storey, Community Care Unit Team Leader, on 01473 707014.
