PCAS Kent Ltd is a rapidly growing company, providing support for people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health conditions. We currently operate in over 40 supported living services across Kent and provide outreach services to people in their own homes.
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Practice Development Trainer, who will have responsibility for both the development and delivery of practice led training courses for our employees and alongside the L&D Manager, assess training and development needs for the organisation.
The successful candidate will have a background in Health and Social Care, ideally specific to L&D, autism and mental health with a strong understanding of the professional, regulatory, statutory and corporate framework/standards relevant to the sector. The ideal candidate will be able to develop and implement recognised support practices, working hands on with staff on site to improve consistency and engagement levels for the people we support. Ideally you will have knowledge and experience of positive behaviour/active support practices. You will have experience in the delivery of a range of high-quality courses for staff across the organisation, creating course materials and training manuals to meet specific training needs and will include MCA/DOLS, Autism, Safeguarding, Induction.
Excellent verbal and written skills are essential as is the ability to engage groups of people, along with competent IT skills including Microsoft applications.
Responsibilities:
* Undertake regular organisation-wide training needs analysis for our staff to identify training needs and requirements and build a training plan based on those needs.
* Completing any training related administration tasks as required by the business and share monthly compliance with managers to take action.
* Design, organise and promote a range of high-quality courses for staff across the organisation ensuring sessions are modified, or create course materials and training manuals to meet specific training needs. Courses will include (but not exhaustive):
* Person Centred Active Support
* Safeguarding
* Autism
* MCA/DOLS
* Induction training
* Diabetes and equipment monitoring
* Positive engagement
* Deliver the agreed training course in person and online as required. Including effective induction and orientation sessions.
* Develop knowledge of those we support to provide bespoke training where appropriate and required.
* Identify and support Apprenticeships, monitoring progress and updates ensuring relevant paperwork is completed and updated as required by the managers and training providers.
* In liaison with the Head of HR, manage the Training budget, ensuring costs are kept within stated budget and managed effectively.
* Maintain a database of potential learners and attendees for the courses, ensuring the main training matrix is kept up to date and current and staff and practices are compliant and demonstrate percentages of compliance per course.
* Continually review existing training materials produced to ensure they are up-to-date, legal, appropriate, and relevant.
* Compile course feedback and key learnings and feed back to Training Manager following each course in order to monitor and evaluate training program’s effectiveness and success.
* Work with managers to address learning issues, instruction problems or new educational needs regarding specific employees or departments.
* Develop and implement recognised support practices, working hands on with staff on site to improve consistency and engagement levels for the people we support.
* Attend regular meetings, conferences, and seminars to ensure knowledge is current in relation to Health and Social Care. Maintain an understanding of new educational and training techniques and methods.
* Any other duties as required for the continued operations of the Company.
Hours: 28 per week
Salary: £28,000 per annum pro rata
