Vivid Resourcing are currently working with a local authority in the Midlands who are looking to hire an interim Head of Legal Services and Monitoring Officer on a 6 month rolling contract.
Candidates must have prior monitoring officer experience, ideally with a background at the district or borough council level.
The role will be hybrid, with office and committee presence expected to be twice weekly - therefore local candidates will be preferred for their accessibility.

- Managing both the legal and governance teams
- Acting as sole legal advisor to the Council's executive
- Attending committee meetings as required of the statutory monitoring officer title
- To assist in the enactment of a constitutional review
The projected start date of this position would be within the next four weeks.
Candidates must have two written references from their last two places of employment in line with the Council's hiring policy towards the senior leadership team.
