About the Role:
Join our client as a Sales Manager for the Asia Pacific region, where you will lead machinery and equipment sales across a diverse and fast-growing market, including China.
In the role, you will be responsible for managing our clients Shanghai-based spares facility, executing data-driven strategies to uncover new business opportunities, and working closely with customers to deliver outstanding aftermarket support. This role offers the chance to shape the future of their Asia Pacific operations, helping them grow market share, improve profitability, and enhance brand loyalty.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Drive sales of machinery and equipment within the Asia Pacific region, ensuring financial targets for revenue and profitability are met or exceeded.
2. Manage and grow the Shanghai spares operation, maximizing aftermarket sales and supporting an expanding machine base.
3. Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities through market analysis and proactive customer engagement.
4. Build long-lasting relationships with both new and existing customers, enhancing satisfaction and loyalty.
5. Lead commercial discussions, prepare accurate sales forecasts, and collaborate with senior management to align strategies with overall business objectives.
6. Conduct on-site customer visits, providing technical reviews, quotations, and expert commercial advice.
7. Oversee competitor analysis, lost sales opportunities, and pricing strategy to ensure they stay ahead of the market.
8. Collaborate with the legal department on contract reviews, ensuring all business dealings adhere to ethical standards and regional regulations.
About You:
1. At least 5 years of experience in a commercial sales role, preferably in a technical or engineering environment.
2. Proven success in selling high-value, technically complex products.
3. Strong experience in inventory management, contract negotiation, and presenting to diverse audiences.
4. A strategic thinker and effective leader with excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
5. Degree in a technical or commercial discipline, with a passion for driving business growth in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
6. Ability to manage complex data, adapt to changing business needs, and deliver solutions efficiently.
7. Experience with ERP/MRP systems, business development, and strategic sales planning.
8. A hands-on team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and is dedicated to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and environmental responsibility.
9. Able to work autonomously.
