Job overview
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic Systemic Family Therapist to join our clinical team at our 12 bedded Dragonfly Adolescent Unit for young people aged 13-17.
Led by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, you would join the clinical team as a key member of the service both assessing and working with families and young people admitted with complex mental health needs.
Our clinical team has clinical psychology, OT, Social work and Art therapy and works closely with our Matron led nursing team, psychiatrists and education service.
The post-holder will be expected to work with the most highly complex cases and to develop an area of special interest within family therapy holding differing views and managing conflict and unknown factors, all of which characterise complex work.
Main duties of the job
If successful, you be joining us at an exciting time as we develop an integrated clinical model of care informed by developmental and relational theory to add to our understanding of mental health difficulties in young people.
Alongside work with the MDT, you would be expected to contribute to service development as we improve our Good CQC rating.
There will be opportunities for training to support our model and practice towards excellence and innovation.

Essential criteria
* M.Sc./Post-graduate Diploma in Systemic Psychotherapy/Family Therapy or equivalent
* UKCP registered family therapist
* Additional qualification in a related profession (e.g. social work, nursing, psychology).
Desirable criteria
* Relevant specialist training in adolescent mental health disorders
* Advanced training in supervision
* Doctoral level research experience

* Substantial post-qualifying experience as a systemic/family psychotherapist working in health care or social care setting
* Relevant experience of working collaboratively with service users and carers in the development of patient/client-centered services
* Substantial experience of working with children, adolescents and families with mental health problems in complex situations
* Experience facilitating the development of multi- disciplinary staff groups through the application of systemic models
* Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients’ care and treatment, both as a professionally qualified care coordinator and also within the context of a multi-disciplinary care plan
