Hiring Manager - Luke Pitson Closing Date - 24th January 2025 The Opportunity As a Firewall Administrator at Landmark, you will be working as part of the Infrastructure and Network team to operate and maintain a range of Next Generation Firewalls on behalf of both internal and external clients. The role will involve, but will not be limited to: Writing, reviewing, and implementing operational firewall rules in line with industry best practice whilst adhering to our internal firewall policies. Providing support to operational engineers with firewall access rules, firewall performance, bandwidth utilisation, SD-WAN network policies. Raising support tickets with our suppliers / partners for any firewall related issues that require escalation for fault diagnosis or further analysis. Providing support to network engineers for design, planning and implementation of firewall hardware upgrades or replacement of degraded or faulty hardware. Utilising our vulnerability tools and working with guidance from the InfoSec team to plan, implement and support firewall software upgrades to recommended secure versions. Keep up to date with firewall technology trends and assess improvements that can be made to Landmark’s infrastructure in line with Security audit outcomes. Carrying out technical operations of the LAN/WAN including configuration & deployment, monitoring, maintenance & troubleshooting, auditing and log management and upgrade & support of all network systems including routers, switches, firewalls, IDS/IPS and SD-WAN. Performing regular network change tasks in line with customer requirements, ensuring potential issues are known and avoided so problems & delays in production service do not occur. About You You will be self-driven and motivated to stay focussed and committed to a task, as well as capable of prioritising and managing your own workload. You will be interested in leading edge technologies and keen to develop your skills and knowledge as this role offers progression and development. You will also have/be: Excellent working knowledge of a range of next generation firewalls, to include firewall changes, rule base audits, code upgrades, hardware fault diagnosis and replacement. Excellent troubleshooting skills - Able to analyse problems and conduct effective fault diagnosis and system recovery. Good understanding of the commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the network and security operations. A varied IT related background is desirable, multi data centre enterprise environments with branch office deployments, virtualisation, Cloud, SaaS/IaaS/PaaS, including but not limited to AWS, Azure is desirable. Qualifications in Fortinet NSE 4 and CCNA/CCNA Security are also desirable.
