Role Overview
The Finance Manager is a crucial part of the finance team, ensuring accurate and timely financial monitoring and accounting.
Responsibilities
This role includes responsibilities such as:
* Monthly financial reporting
* Managing programme and project contracts
* Supporting the annual external audit
* Managing tenancy contracts
* Overseeing group VAT returns
* Supervising two staff members and supporting the daily operations of the finance department
* Coordination with the programme and projects team to monitor and record project activity for accurate accounting of all programme activities and funds
* Deputising for the Finance Director as needed
Qualifications
* Fully or post-exam qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPFA), ideally with a graduate degree or working towards it
* Proficiency in reporting, group consolidation, and preparing Financial Statements
* Experience in preparing and analysing management accounts and reconciling balance sheets
* Knowledge of UK tax, including preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns (through MTD) with HMRC, and familiarity with VAT apportionment for business/non-business compliance
* Proficiency in MS Office, Sage, and similar accounting software, with intermediate or advanced Excel skills
* Ability to recognise and implement solutions, leading departmental enhancements and process streamlining with the support of the Finance Director
