We are looking for a dynamic highly motivated Ward Clerk to join a nurse-led team on the paediatric day unit.

* Part-time 15 hours - 2 days per week.

You must also be able to demonstrate an adaptable, enthusiastic approach to your work, and the ability to manage your workload with various competing demands within a fast-paced environment.
You must be courteous, respectful, and helpful at all times as you will be primarily responsible for the reception area and greeting patients. We are looking for someone who can work independently as a Ward Clerk while integrating into the wider MDT.
Basic IT knowledge is essential. Previous experience with e-record and working within a ward clerk environment is desirable. Training will be provided for use on the systems used within the directorate.
The role involves providing a front-line clerical service to clinical staff within the ward, ensuring an appropriate standard of support is delivered in a timely manner. You will provide a meet and greet service to visitors, patients, and staff. A key responsibility for the post holder is to ensure the timely and accurate inputting of data for all admissions, transfers, and discharges of patients.
You will be responsible for booking appointments for patients and beds for specialty teams. Additional duties will include stock ordering, supporting the nursing team, and bed management team.
To provide and maintain efficient and effective administrative support to the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse and multidisciplinary team.
Contribute to the delivery of a consistently high standard of patient care as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
Ensure case notes, investigations, X-rays, and results are available for new admissions, ward rounds, and multi-disciplinary team meetings.
Ensure that case notes are correctly maintained following departmental guidelines and compliance with legislation (Caldicott Guidelines etc). Ensuring PAS system is up to date and accurate.
Registration of new patients and all confidential information relevant to them.
