This role as a Trunk Road Casualty Reduction Manager sounds both challenging and impactful!
Youll play a vital part in reducing road casualties and improving safety across the trunk road network in Scotland. Heres a concise overview of the key aspects:
Key Responsibilities
* Budget Management: Monitor and report on a £6 million budget for accident investigation and prevention measures.
* Stakeholder Coordination: Engage with stakeholders to identify and implement best practices in road safety engineering.
* Engineering Measures: Collaborate on delivering engineering solutions to meet Scottish Government's casualty reduction goals by 2030.
* Reporting and Communication: Draft reports, respond to public inquiries, and prepare briefings for Ministers.
* Site Visits: Conduct site visits with Police Scotland to analyse past fatal accidents.
Competencies and Experience
* Evidence Analysis: Proven ability to utilize diverse data sources for informed decision-making.
* Performance Improvement: Experience in project management, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
* Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships and managing conflict.

Essential Criteria
* Chartered Engineer (C. Eng.) with relevant road design experience.
* Experience in data analysis and decision support.
* Proven track record of managing workloads and delivering programs on time.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience in budget monitoring and reporting.
* Background in road safety engineering and research.
* Familiarity with Transport Scotlands strategic objectives and challenges in casualty =
