Hazlewoods is one of the UK’s Top 35 independent accountants and business advisers, with over 550 employees in Gloucestershire, Bristol, and Cardiff. We provide specialist accountancy, tax, audit, and business advice to a wide range of local, national, and international businesses, from small owner-managed firms to multi-million-pound organisations.
After 5 years and once qualified, you would then become a Senior Associate. After this, you have access to our Talent Development Programme and the chance to progress within the business.
We have three main areas in which you can complete your apprenticeship:
Audit
* Part of a supportive team, you will visit clients in various parts of the UK providing advice on their audit.
* You will work with an interesting range of clients from sectors including sports clubs, household brands, and charities.
* You will receive training on the entire audit process, including planning meetings with business leaders and performing audit testing on balance sheet and profit and loss accounts.
* Prepare tax calculations and other financial statements using in-house software.
Tax
* Prepare tax returns for individuals and businesses using tax software.
* Prepare forms relating to employee benefits-in-kind e.g., company cars.
* Deal with HMRC queries.
* Help prepare capital gains tax reports on inheritance including property/shares.
* Assist with business restructure work.
Accounts
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounts.
* Undertake tax calculations and VAT returns.
* Liaise with clients to discuss queries (this could involve visits to their offices).
* Help prepare financial statements, business plans, and budgeting.
* Assist with audit work and analyze risks.
* Produce financial review documents.
Block release study will take place at our training partner's offices:
First Intuition, 6th Floor, City Point, Temple Gate, Redcliffe, Bristol BS1 6PL.
Study is classroom-based alongside other Hazlewoods apprentices.
The training schedule and study planner is provided at induction.
Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm (37.5 hours per week).
