Randstad UK are recruiting for a Bid Manager with experience in the Rail Sector for work with a Global Engineering and Rail company.
This is a freelance contract role expected to last 6-12 Months and is OUTSIDE IR35.
Key Duties:
1. Collaborate with account management team to drive new bids and proposals
2. Work in line with company policies, processes and procedures, ensuring bid governance is in place
3. Manage and update management tools, and report in a concise and impactful way
4. Break down the requirements and coordinate all technical, financial and commercial deliverables
5. Prepare, implement and ensure adoption of bid plans
6. Develop and promote bid and proposal strategy
7. Act as the primary contact and leader for bid and proposal related matters throughout the process
8. Produce and present bid and proposal review & approval documentation to people at all levels
9. Prepare high quality documentation, including learnings and improvements for future bids and proposals
10. Produce compelling and competitive bids that minimise risk to the business
11. Negotiate with the customer
12. Transfer information from the bid and proposal team to the project delivery team
13. Manage related budgets accurately and with transparency
14. Drive efficiencies and improvements in what we do every day

18. Able to communicate effectively with key stakeholders in and around the business

22. Attention to detail that leads to an excellent standard of work
23. Customer focused; yet commercially aware negotiator
Qualifications:
24. IEE, MIRSE or APMP qualifications desirable
25. You've studied to degree level in a related subject
26. Have knowledge of public procurement and frameworks
27. A background in bid and/or proposal management in an Engineering related business
28. Desirable sector experience in any of the following: mobility, rail, lifecycle solutions, Whole Life Cost management, maintenance, technical support, training, spares & repairs, asset management, cyber security and digitalisation.
