Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic person who exudes hospitality to be a part of our team. As our Front of House Manager, you will have the opportunity to work in our intimate dining room of 30 covers, alongside our bakery and deli. Our dining offering seeks to embody the rural and cosy feel of the Southern England countryside - our restaurant is stylish and relaxed with a combination of indoor seating and outdoor terraced seating.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Front of House Manager to oversee the daily operations of our restaurant and farm shop front of house. This role is pivotal in ensuring an exceptional experience for our guests while maintaining a harmonious and efficient work environment for our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a comprehensive understanding of restaurant operations - an immediate start is also available for the right candidate.
Working Hours: 48 hours per week with consecutive days off each week and only two standard evenings per week (plus occasional mid-week events).
Duties
* Supervise and manage front of house staff, including servers, retail team, and bartenders, ensuring high standards of service are maintained.
* Oversee daily restaurant and deli operations, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and health standards.
* Assist in training new staff members on service protocols, menu knowledge, and customer interaction.
* Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless communication between front and back of house.
* Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner to enhance customer satisfaction.
* Manage reservations and seating arrangements to optimise guest flow and minimise wait times.
* Implement strategies to improve service efficiency and team performance.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a management role within the hospitality/restaurant industry.
* A basic understanding of retail would be helpful but not a pre-requisite.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
* Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
* Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
