Role Overview:
As an English Teacher, you will deliver inspiring lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping students develop a love for literature, language, and writing. You will work collaboratively with other teachers in the department to deliver engaging and innovative lessons that challenge students and foster their academic growth. You will also provide support and guidance for students to achieve their full potential in English.
Key Responsibilities:
-Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and high-quality lessons in English for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.
-Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage students and cater to diverse learning needs.
-Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and support.
-Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, creativity, and confidence.
-Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes in English.
-Participate in departmental meetings, planning sessions, and school-wide initiatives.
-Communicate regularly with parents to discuss student progress and address any concerns.
-Contribute to the wider school community through extra-curricular activities, school events, and departmental projects.
About You:
We are looking for a teacher who is:
-Qualified: A relevant teaching qualification (QTS) and a degree in English or a related field.
-Experienced: Previous experience teaching English at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 is desirable but not essential.
-Passionate: A genuine enthusiasm for literature, language, and helping students develop essential skills.
-Creative: Able to deliver innovative and engaging lessons that inspire students to achieve.
-Organized: Able to manage classroom activities, assessments, and student progress effectively.
-Collaborative: A team player who is willing to work closely with colleagues across the department and the wider school.
