Job summary We welcome applications for a full-time post in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery attracting 10 PAs, based at Wexham Park Hospital. Subject to agreement there may peripheral clinics at King Edward VII Hospital, Windsor, and Heatherwood Hospital, Ascot. The posts requires general ENT skills and experience. A specialist interest in head and neck surgery and/or thyroid and parathyroid surgery is essential. We would also expect experience and training in the surgical management of common, non-specialised conditions in children. The successful applicants will support the current delivery of both adult and paediatric ENT including contribution to the development of these services and raising the Departmental profile through teaching and education to a growing population. The Department of ENT at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is managerially part of Specialty Surgery, which also includes Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontics, based at Wexham Park Hospital and an ENT Department and Ophthalmology, based at Frimley Park Hospital. Main duties of the job To provide a full Otorhinolaryngology service predominantly for the local catchment population. The post holder will be expected to provide a general adult and paediatric practice. They will undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of their patients, and the running of their clinical service under the direction of the Chief/Deputy Chief of Service. In addition there is an on call emergency commitment which also involves covering the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading. The post holder will be expected to participate in all clinical governance activities, including clinical audit, clinical effectiveness, risk management, quality improvement activities. The post-holder will be involved with the supervision and training of junior colleagues in the department. The post-holder will be expected to work within the Trust management policies and procedures. The post-holder will be required to keep themselves fully up-to-date with their relevant area of practice and to be able to demonstrate this to the satisfaction of the Trust.
