SEN Nursery Nurse – Barnet A wonderful nursery in Barnet is seeking an experienced SEN Nursery Nurse to provide dedicated support to children with special educational needs (SEN). In this role, you will work closely with families and teachers to create an inclusive environment where every child feels supported and nurtured. Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and group support for young children with special educational needs, helping them engage in early learning activities. Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans. Work closely with families to understand the unique needs of each child and ensure a consistent approach to care both at nursery and at home. Collaborate with teachers and external professionals such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists to ensure comprehensive support for the children. Promote social, emotional, and cognitive development through tailored activities and interventions. Monitor children's progress and provide regular updates to families and staff on key milestones and areas for further support. Participate in training and professional development to stay current with best practices in early years SEN care. Experience and Qualifications: Proven experience working with young children, especially those with special educational needs, in a nursery or early years setting. Relevant childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Early Years or equivalent. Strong understanding of early years frameworks, child development, and SEN best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and staff. A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to working with children with a range of needs. A DBS check is required.
