An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of MSK Consultant working with the Hounslow MSK Services. The anticipated start date will be end of April 2025.
The MSK Service is jointly led by a Consultant MSK Physiotherapist, Clinical Operational manager, and an experienced team of Advanced Practitioners. Our ethos is to improve the services we deliver to patients using innovation.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring improvements in quality, outcomes, and experiences of service users. This includes developing safe systems of work, staff development and training programmes, and innovative models of care delivery.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be the clinical and professional lead for Musculoskeletal physiotherapy for the Trust. They will fulfil a specialist clinical role with patients referred to the MSK service and provide the therapy lead for research, education, policy, strategy, and service development in this clinical area.
The post holder will be expected to hold a clinical caseload.

Qualifications
* HCPC registration
* Degree qualification or equivalent level of study at Masters level or above
* Relevant membership of other professional groups and organisations
* PhD
Knowledge and Experience
* Post graduate knowledge in the specialist area gained through post graduate clinical courses and experience (at MSc/PHD level)
* Understanding of current legislation and professional body standards (HCPC) and their implementation in practice
* Demonstrable postgraduate experience with both clinical leadership and operational management
* Demonstrable advanced clinical experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a clinical specialist in an extended scope of role in multi professional outpatient clinics
* Experience of facilitating change by collaborating with stakeholders within physiotherapy, across other professions and both intra and inter organisationally, to produce innovative practice and service development showing improved patient outcomes
* Understanding of current and emerging health and social care policy and strategies
* Extensive experience in training and developing other therapists in the management of musculoskeletal conditions within standard and extended roles
* Evidence of participation in research and audit and experience of audit evaluation
* Ability to identify, implement and evaluate service improvements
* Understanding of current NHS issues
* Experience in a lecturing or management post
* Published academic papers
